JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes 2010

The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes was held on October 10. This was Team Keeping up with Kennedy's 3rd time walking in this most worthwhile event. The day is one of Kennedy's most treasured days...she is made to feel so special and "normal". She points out every kid/adult with a pump and when she see's them testing their blood sugar along the walk. So far we have raised over $2500.00 and we are still collecting donations!

We were once again overwhelmed by the tremendous support Kennedy received from friends and family in the form of donations, walking with us on that day, kind words, and prayers.

My Kellybrook Elementary colleagues did a jeans/sweats day for a donation to Keeping up with Kennedy...they raised over $300!! Kennedy got to meet the teachers and accept the money on behalf of JDRF...her words say it best..."Mom, this was better than ice cream, Diet Coke and marshmallows...you know, all the best stuff!" Awwww...thanks Kellybrook Cougars!



We had 31 people walk with Kennedy this year...wow...you have no idea how amazing your support is...Kennedy remembers and talks about each one of you and how you were there that day! (a few are missing from our picture...sorry)



Thank you, thank you, thank you...although it doesn't seem like quite enough, we hope it will suffice! Because of your generous donations we will all one day celebrate a cure:)
